The Singapore Business Council (SBC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 and registered with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2016, it joined the ASEAN Business Councils Alliance (ABCA) together with the councils represented by the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Operating under the patronage of the Embassy of Singapore in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Dubai, the SBC and its activities are led by an Executive Committee (EXCO) consisting of Singaporean professionals based in the Emirates.
Currently there are more than 1,000 corporate, individual and affiliate members – membership profile spreads across a spectrum of sectors including logistics, law, finance, education, trading, architecture, engineering and other professional services. With an estimated 4,000 Singaporeans residing in the UAE, the SBC works closely with the Consulate-General to reach out to Singaporeans who would like to network with the various businesses and communities through the planned SBC events.
Membership is open to all Singapore companies and residents, as well as individuals or entities with professional or business ties with Singapore.
